Re: Carpet
Hey buddy, do you mean the front of the box? Not quite sure i understand what your asking. But i can say that covering a box in marine grade carpet is perfectly acceptable. Maybe you want to look into a mesh grille to match the carpet? YOu can always cover it up when your done!

Re: Carpet
I think you have the idea. I want to cover the box totally, (oh yeah, its an open air box, not a bandpass) as well as cover the face of the sub so it can't be seen. Imagine flush mounting a sub with the rear deck (which would oviously need to be raised) and then slapping the carpet down again after.
Wondering if the carpet over the front of the sub itself will restrict airflow to the point that the sub can't move nearly as well as it should.

AHHH i see
Hey dude my advice would be..... mixed LOL. I have a sub in my s10 that rests against the back of the seat and the bass pounds. But thats in my back LOL. It does sound alot better with like 1" of space between the seat and the driver though. Here would be my advice. GIve me a description of how and where you plan to mount the sub. I think you could carpet the whole thing and use a grille covered with matching black grille cloth. That would be very discreet, not totally stealth though, and provide no problems whatsoever with bass output.

Re: AHHH i see
One idea was to mount my box basically between strut towers, but as close to the front of the car as possible. Basically right over top of the tool box doors. Not really too stealthy.
Other idea, is to wait and see what you are doing with yours and then copy!
Hehe.
Last option is to mount the box behind the passanger seat, basically done up as you described your s10, and tapping into the 1 tool box for air space. Hmm, wait, isn't this what you were doing as well?
