Brake Squel
My car is a 260z with standard calipers and discs. I have really annoying brake squeal which I haven't been able to cure. So far I have replaced the pads from the el cheapo's to better quality pads which has helped ALOT. The brake squeal is not consistent but it's usually more obvious when the brakes are cold but not always. I have the anti squel shims in place which helped as well and I even tried anti-squel addhesive which cured the squel for about a week of city traffic. I am wondering could it be warped discs causing this? Faulty brake lines, or just lotz of dust. The brake squeal isn't usual squeal disc brakes make it's more high pitch like a grinding noise more like when a truck is stopping but maybe not that loud.

Re: Brake Squel
You say that the noise went away with the anti-squeal adhesive right. Well in my opinion you were heading in the right direction.. Unfortunately that spray stuff is worthless, what you really need is anti-squeal graphite grease. This is what I used on my car when it suffered from the same problem. Honda makes the best anti-squeal stuff out there, so if you can get your hands on some of it, I am sure your noise would be gone..
