what does everyone think the best gas to put in their 70-78z is? thanks!

Its best to use the gas the car was designed to run on, and being that it was designed in the 70's, its best to use just regular 87, because if you use anything more, you're either just wasting money, because the car wasn't designed to take advantage of higher octane, or your overheating your engine, because the gas may burn at a slightly higher temperature, for the same reason that the car wasn't designed for that type of gas.

Well i disagree .... back in the 1970s there was way more lead in petrol and now in australia they have LEAD REPLACEMENT FUEL which is utter crap i run all of my zeds on optimax with some form of valve protector (i have run one without valve protector for a while with no problems as well). Your car will actually go better on optimax (you can notice it) as it is a more dense fuel and has a better octane rating, which means it will burn better and you can advance your timing slightly if you wish ..

Be warned though, the hi octane fuel loosened all the rubish in my gas tank and kept on clogging fuel filters
