5 speed swap Clutch info wanted
Hi guys
I am putting a 77 5 speed in a 72 240 with R180 3.90 gears.
I want to know if I use the Z240 clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing when the trans goes in? ie or can/should I use the 280 clutch, pressure plate and Throwout bearing?
I have seen posts on this but was not clear. All I got was
" remember that the 240 gets the short Thowout bearing and the 280 gets the big one."
I have the 240 p plate and clutch and TO bearing and this would be the easy way for me. Is this OK?
Thanks Mark
PS also working on a 280T into a 240Z with R200 3.70 and Borg warner 5 speed.

Re: 5 speed swap Clutch info wanted
i run a centerforce dual friction clutch setup, all spec for my 73 240. mated to the engine is an 83 n/a transmission. i had no problems bolting it together. hope this helps
