240 or 260 Intake
I am currently in the final stages of a complete build up of a 70-240. I was talking to a fellow Z freak the other day about all the tried and true horsepower tricks that I have done to my motor. He mentioned that I needed a 260Z intake manifold for my car. I keep the orig heads and had them worked over with larger valves.....and I am also keeping the SU Carbs. He said that the 260 manny flowed better than mine. I am not saying he is wrong, I just thought i would ask if anyone knew why?

Re: 240 or 260 Intake
They say that the 260Z manifold gains 5-10hp? I don't know what they are saying. I actually tried this swap, and to tell the truth if there is a difference it is not that noticable.
Unless you need ever bit of power you can get, or a serious racer, I wouldn't really worry about it.
If you do swap the 260Z manifold over, you need the 260Z gasket spacer for the SU's. the 73 and 73 manifold had a skinnier gasket spacer. Cause if you don't you'll have trouble bolting on your SU's cause the bolts are shorter.
If you do go this route you can get the spacers from www.StrictlyZ.com or your local Nissan Dealer
