Wiring a GM alternator

Anyone have pictures or a step by step for wiring up a GM alternator?

Thanks, seen that one. I'm needing a wiring diagram on how to do it. I have to go back to ft. sill on friday (wednesday now) and I wanted to have this done before the trip.

You just hook up the battery wire & that's it for wiring... What alternator you using? A new one from a parts store, or one from the junk yard?

You will prolly need to modify the alternator to fit the Z bracket. I just cut it to fit on mine. Oh, and you'll need to swap pullies.

I was under the impression that it was better to do a 3 wire setup than a single wire.

Better in what sense? The alternator creates 14.7v of electricity to run back to the batt... You only need 1 wire to do that. The more complex wiring harnesses are for voltage / amp checks, etc...

I'm wanting to use the voltmeter in my Z. Could a bad regulator cause my running/dashboard light fuse to blow?
