Tachometer on 280z stuck?
On my 280z, the tachometer is stuck on about 3500 rpm all the time, even when its completely off.
Any idea on how to fix this issue? |
Even on the bench it would stay at zero. Probably burned out. Try disconnecting the battery in case it has a short to a positive source.

How do i even remove the tachometer? i take the screw off, but it still wont budge.
|
Nevermind, i just had to hit it enough times until it finally poped back to zero. Now it works just fine

Ah! The good old TV repairman trick! There are 2 screws, one in the top from the front of the tach and one on a metal tab on the bottom of the tach under the dash.
