Old prob gone,NEw onE

For some reason my car is ike Christine. It self heals...Cyl. 5 & 6 started firing but now 1-2-3-4 are not...??? WTF..Does anyone have an idea what causes this..?

sounds like bad

electrical connections in the distributer.
mabye a new one? or at least a good rebuild.

Is it possible for me to rebuild it or is that more of a hassle.. If I gotta get a new or replace it are there any semi-cheap good qual. that you woud reccomend.

What year? Are we talking Electronic Ignition or points?

Maybe just new points and condensor for less than $10 and then adjust the gap. Check your main lead from the coil too.

Have you checked for spark on these cylinders?
I could be bad fuel injectors or a corroded connection on the plug at the back of some of the injectors.

Prob solved...Thanks to all

After trial and error aand finally getting the pdf file on fuel inj troubleshooting, unplugged ecu started checking turned out to be a drop resistor and then I couldn't find the one on the 76. Behind washer bottle, duh.. Anyway it feels good to light up the tires again, the neighbors - well they're not but oh well it's FRIDAY... I gotta get it clean and go race tonight..
