Need help or walk through on how to replace fuel injectors on my 77 280Z

Im working on my 77 280z and am having a problem replacing the fuel injectors. I am mainly having a problem releasing the fuel pressure in order to be able to take off the fuel rail and etc. If anyone has a write up on how to replace the fuel injectors on my z, I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot.

Welcome to ZDriver! :006:

If you haven't bought a Haynes manual yet, I suggest doing so. Or download the FSM from www.xenons30.com/reference

To release the fuel pressure, you can just yank the fuel line off & let it spray out, or remove the fuel pump relay / disconnect the fuel pump connector & crank the car for a few seconds.

^ This. A 280Z fuel rail is the easiest thing to work on since it is right up top with nothing in the way. I would pull the fuel pump fuse, turn the car on and let it die, which should only take a second or two, then pull a hose off something like the fuel filter just to get any other pressure released and then start unbolting the fuel rail and start popping out the injectors. Each injector will have 2 screws holding it in. I hope you are replacing all the O-rings on the injectors if you are taking them off, I am sure they are pretty old regardless.
