Need help plz

Alright ive got a 1976 280z with a 4-11 rear and the stock 5 speed keeps getting trashed by it, is there anything I can do that will keep it as quick but not need me rebuilding the tranny all the time? will another transmission work in its place?

The early 5 speeds are weak. Get one out of a 82-83

The 76 didn't come with a stock 5 speed, so you probably have an early tranny from 78 or so.

82/83 NA 5 speed was the strongest tranny Nissan put in the NA Z cars.
