L28et Jdm?

Does anyone know what the main differences are between the standard L28ET we got in the states, and the JDM engine?
I found a car that I would like to get the engine out of, or possibly build if I had the money. The guy has this ad.
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/893129557.html
Talked to him, and he says that the JDM was set up to run 10lbs of boost.
He does not know what block, or head it is. I am more concerned with that information.
But, I am out of town for the next 5 days, and am curious if anyone can tell me about the JDM.
Did a search, lol. But, either I am too lazy to read through countless pages to find the answer, or I can't find it.

There was no L28et in Japan. The turbo 280zx they had, had an L20et. The L28 was always non-turbo over there. Unless that guy swapped on his turbo stuff to the L28, he's blowing smoke.

I could not find anything on a JDM L28ET. What about other models?

I will see it in person, and see what I can find. But, that will be a few days.

Japan loved that 2.0L, I know for most part US and Europe got better motors in the Z cars. Except for when the 260 got hit super hard by emissions.

JDM is a misused term thrown around for parts that people want to talk up.

If it truly is from Japan, it probably is an L20eT and the owner may be unaware of the smaller displacement.

I had a guy tell me he had an R200 LSD from a 280ZX turbo for sale. I drove over there to buy it right away and it ended up being an open diff. He just assumed all turbo Z-cars had LSD rearends in them... might as well be "JDM"

Looking for something complete that I can swap in. I will build my ultimate L engine when I have a garage to do it.
But, thanks a ton for the offer. Who know's. If I end up in a house faster that I thought, I might go for it.
Right now, I am hurting at work, losing hours thanks to the drop in copper. I might have to wait till I can do anything fun at all. I'll just keep turning screws on the triple webers. haha

You and me both. There is no real replacement for displacement. I hate to admit it sometimes. I draw the line at a sbc in a Z. No imagination. But stroked L28's are dead sexy. I imagine that RB20DET sounds sweet though.

So I've heard the JDM VG30ET had more power though. Anyone know if that's true?

Did they get the VG SOHC turbo? I was thinking the JDM Z31 was RB20DET and the Z32 had the VG30DETT

They did get the SOHC VGet. My friend had with a rusted out muffler and it sounded awful. Japan used the smaller motors mainly for road tax. The bigger the motor and the car, the more you pay annually.
