Hello -- not sure this will make much sense, but... I have an 82 280zx turbo that has had very few problems. Recently, after sitting for a few months, I jumped the car with a honda. I thought I had destroyed the ECU, but after replacing the battery and starting the car a few days later.. the rough idle is gone. Now it's running ok again. Just curious.. could there have been another reason for the rough idle? Plugs are good, maybe water/air in the fuel line?? (I know very little about these cars..)

If your Z is running fine... then it's running good? right? If a car sits for a while, sometimes it idles rough for the first few minutes of the first start.

 

Sorry, my error. Yes, the car is running right again. It was strange that it would not idle and seemed to be intermittent and I assumed it was due to the jump start/ECU. Now, it's idling just fine. Thanks for the reply.
