Unhappy Help me with Headlight Switch Prob.

Hello All,

This is my first posting, new to the forum. My problem is no lights at night! So, Old Yellow is grounded for the time being. I've looked through several forums, but haven't found anything on this. I've got a 72 240 with a headlight combo switch that is beyond repair. I've taken it apart & resoldered new wires to the circuit board, but due to the age of the board, and probably my soldering skill, the wires pop off at the worst time, like when I'm driving at night!

Can't seem to find a combo switch for a 6/72 production 240. Seems you can only get one for 70-71 or 74+. Anyone know where to find one to work?

Also, how about repinning the connector from a 70-71 switch to work with the 72 harness? Is that possible. Would love some imput. All the diagrams I've found only give the wiring; no connector/pin diagrams. Seems simple enough, but I don't want to fry my harness. It's too old, like me.

Thanks all,

Steve

headlight switch

I have one for you out of my 72 rust bucket parts car. Are you sure it's the switch and not another problem?
