Does anyone know what flowmaster sounds like on a z. I love the sound on my chevelle, but the z is a totally different machine.

 

I am not sure about flowmaster but I have header to straight pipe to a magnaflow and it sounds awesome. nice lower rumbleat low rpms but winds and get a good tone at high rpms too.

I recently installed a Flowmaster Hushpower in my '78 280z cpe and I must say that I'm totally satisfied with it, interior/exterior sound is deep and I think it's true that it gives extra power. I just have not really checked their claim of reduced gas consumption.

 

Search on youtube. There should be some good soundclips/videos.
I just ordered a cheap Dynomax thrush Turbo muffler of eBay ($30) for laughs. I figured anything is better than stock.
