Exhasut System

I'm looking for a nice set of headers & a catback exhaust system for my '78 280Z. Right now I have stock headers and a Glass Pack muffer thats only blowing hot air with no tone unless in low RPM range. I've heard of just a couple names like Pacesetter and Monza but I'm looking for some other namebrand items? So if anyone know of some other names let me know.
THANKS

go to zcarparts.com. you can get a nice set of headers and full catback exhaust w/ 2 1/2 inch piping for around $300. The prez of my club has the exhaust and it sounds sweet.

I have a 2 1/2 in exhaust w/ an msa 3-2-1 header and it sounds sweeeeeeet :D :D :D but I have to replace it because of rust and bad welding cracks. I think I want to upgrade to a 6-1 header that is "aluminized" so that it won't rust like this one has. Plus I want a flowmaster "American Thunder" muffler and then a 4 in. tip

I have a Pacesetter/Monza exhaust on my '70 240Z. I got it because of it's dual vertical tips. There is usually a guy on eBay who is selling it for around $140 shipped.
It's not a bad exhaust for that price. However, I do not see it as a true performance exhaust. I just got it because of the style, price, and simply as a replacement for my 34 year old stock muffler.
I have the stock exhaust manifold, but the sound out of the tip sounds pretty nice. It's not as crisp as the MSA exhausts, but it does have a deeper and grumbling tone. You can also hear crackles and the occasional backfire, but mine is a smog exempt straight pipe. Don't know if it'll do the same with a cat.

I noticed that the black paint have burned off quite a bit on the pipe. Also, the yellow paint on the muffler tips are UGLY. I recommend stripping it off before installation. Carbon will eventually cover it black.
