Hey i got a 1jz turbo vvti 45xxxmiles sitting in my back yard with transmission ready to be installed. The thing is i live in california and it will not pass smog.. do i hot smog it and enjoy it as is or do i just wait until i find a 280zx turbo engine and install that. (I am aware the swap price will be cheaper with the 280zx emgine) any feed back helps

From a quick Google search, seems that as long as the engine is CAL-Emissions, it's fine. So, is your 1JZ from a California emissions car?
