stuck trying to remove rear strut :(

Unhappy stuck trying to remove rear strut :(

Hey, removing my rear strut on my 78 280z
It says to remove the spindle in the service manual but i cant get the center bolt out to do that any tips?
does it have a preload point or something cause that ****er wont budge >.<

There is a retaining bolt. After removing the retainer, you have to nudge it back and forth with a drift and a hammer from both sides until you can pull it. Hit it with penetrator and allow to sit for several hours. See

Are you asking about the stub axle or the spindle pin and lock pin?

its the spindle pin and lock pin im pretty sure.

That taper lock pin is rusted in there. Soak everything with a good penetrant. Back the nut on the lock pin out one turn or just past the threads to protect them from the hammer. Tap it gently to see if it loosens up. Spray it again. I made a spindle pin punch with the threads in the end so I wouldn't destroy it. If you can't do this the parts won't be reusable so buy new ones.
