350z wheels on a 280z?

hi all-

i've swapped out the wheels on my 350 for 19" wheels, so i have the stock 18" wheels with brand new michelin pilot sports sitting in my basement. how ridiculous would these look on my 77 280z? would they fit at all? if anyone has any pics of a 240/260/280 with 18" wheels, i'd appreciate you posting them.

thanx

First, you'd have to either change out the hubs to a five lug (not cheap) or get wheel adaptors that convert from 4 to 5 lug (about 200 bucks). Then, they probabaly still would not fitr because of the offset. The 350Z wheels have a FWD offset (even though it's a RWD car). I'm sure with enough modification, it could be done, but at what cost? There's plenty of guys with 17" wheels with wheel adaptors (Myself included but it's an S130 car), but 18's are going to be much harder to fit on an S30. If you have the time, the money and the patience though, you can make anything fit.

Rod.

you will need the hub adaptors... The offset is too high on those wheels to be useable without a THICK!!! adaptor... the 18" wheels will raise your car's profile so much you wont be able to lower it and actually drive it.... You cant fit any tire wider than a 225/$$/18 in between the stock springs and the stock fender lip....

The Z cars look cool with deep lip rims... why would anyone put a set of "pug faced" modern wheels on a classic like the S-30 series...

Heres a Z with some 18" 350z wheels. I plan on getting a set of the track edition forge 18" rays wheels for my 280z.

yikes, those touring wheels look just as bad on the vintage z as they do on the 350. the stock 17" 350 wheels might look ok- they look more like the rays and are a bit smaller. that's the first time i've seen 18's on a 240, and they're way too big. 17s seem to look ok.
