My next gen Z

Since there havn't been any posts here in a month and Ford, GM, Chrysler have new retro cars, I think Nissan should do something also. Tell me what you think of it. A twin turbo version of the Titan V8 would keep it pure.

its cool... but TT titan... no way. lol. and too much body. awsome idea and general design though. needs a lower body (body is to tall) and more realistic power plant. besides that. i love it. very s30'ish

I think that's why Nissan made the 350Z... The modern 240Z. That chop-top S30 looks pretty sweet tho. There's a 280Z here in Utah that has been chopped like the hammerhead Corvette look. It's sitting in a junk yard tho.

That pic is sweet. But Nissan screwed up the retro look once already. I doubt they'd be willing to try again and prove they were wrong the first time.

This started out as a '71 240Z. I chopped the top and moved it forward with Nikon because I like the idea of a coupe style. Does it need a wing on the back? TT V6? What else? Who could better design the next gen Z than the guys that love them the most?

well if Nissan really wants to appeal to the Z enthusiasts, then maybe it should look like this:

It's my personal opinion that they had it right way back then. The only thing I could ask for is a modern drivetrain and perhaps something just a little less rust prone

true dat... much less rust prone... much better engine tranny and diff. maybe slightly wider rear for fatter tires. and yes a stock front air dam similare to that to bring down the front end height to match teh rest of the body ride hieght. and yes stick with the flusher small simple bumpers... OMG

The back looks too much like a Vette for me. Other than that looks good.

thats clean, i think the grille hole needs to be a little bigger but it still looks hella clean. so how much work did that take you to chop that, jsut like any other choppin, or more onvolved cause of the hatch. Looks clean tho!

or did you delete the hatch and make it into a trunk? Looks like no hatch. It reminds me of the chevy prototype of the bel air....it was all chopped and sectioned, looked clean, but they didn't take the idea anywhere. I think they just dropped it and made the mistake...er i mean the camero.

the wing does not really flow with the car. maybe a wing thats part of the car not just an extension.

the tt v-8 isnt my idea of a Z.. Z's have always had the 6 cylinder, they should just make a beefier one. maybe go back to an inline 6. maybe a solid 3.6L

It wouldn't have a trunk. That's where the fuel cell would be because of the rear mounted turbo(s). Speaker system behind the seats to blow dry your hair. I'm talkin bout a 500hp super car that weighs 2400 lbs! A trunk or hatch is just a place to put **** you won't want in the car with you anyway. Zack, the straight 6 would allow room for all wheel drive- good idea!

im not a hater, i just think it looks more like a car of the future than the next generation of Z. it should be a little more subtle. and my car aint beat, its in amazing condition with a built frame rust free and all i have left is install a wiring harness my slave cylinder a battery and hook up a couple fuel lines and i try to start the bitch. i made incredible progress in the time i made and for a grand getting a Z in this condition due to it being dissasembled, i made out ona good *** deal.

Hey if anyone wants to flame someone's ride look at my ****! I started sanding the rear valance and found 3/8 inch of bondo on it all the way around to the right quarter. I cut the whole thing out and made a new one. Now I see that MSA sells one for $250. Haven't driven it in a year!

I'm more of a purist (not sure if that is spelled correctly) when it comes to the exterior, but that looks sweet thramz!! How about some type of vent/snorkle on each side?

Same here - mine is in pieces all over the garage. Mine sat in a bone yard for a while, so it's all banged up (nothing major, just bumps and bruises / no rust). Taking it down to the metal though anyway. I need a rear panel (under back bumper) and will probably need to buy the one from Motorsports.

side exhausts towards the front of the rear wheel wells. molded into the rockers... that would be sick to.
