Front Fender/Rocker Panel Rust Advice Request

Hey Guys. I'm new to the forum and working on Z cars. I have just begun pulling apart my basket case of a 280z. It's a neglected '76 so there's plenty of rust to deal with, but the area I'm having trouble planning a solution for is at the rear of the front wheel well where the front of the rocker panel bolts to the bottom of the fender. (The lower right of the attached photo.) The rust has eaten right through the panel and the bolts from the fender are frozen in place. Any patch panel would need to involve a way of bolting on the fender.

I was wondering how you guys have addressed this problem and if you have advice for fabricating a solution. I did quick search of the forum and came up empty.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help. I wasn't aware that I could purchase an entire rocker panel as a replacement. I'm still familiarizing myself with the uni-body design. I was thinking that I would have to patch it. Thanks again for the reply.

Welcome

Glad to help, one of the very cool things about these older cars, guys have been working on them and making them better for over 30 years now. Companies like Motorsport /TheZstore are making a concerted effort to get outdated parts reproduced.

Then some of the really cool stuff, https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/280z
These guys have a cornucopia of cool parts for the s30's, it's a complete drool fest.
