my best friend has a 95 mustang 5.0 with h pipes. i have a 90 300z n/a with ingin intakes, we race all the time and we stay about even until i go to hit 3rd gear and he just keeps going, i think he has different gear ratios. Anyway, i was wondering what are the best mods for me to get in order to beat him?

pulleys, exhaust, ported throttle bodys and intake manifolds, ecu, and the list goes on and on.

he's right the list goes on for a while and i dont think there is an end to it but you have to realize that he is running a 5.0 you are running a 3.0 so of corse your going to have to do some work not just minor things but hey good luck and let me know on the outcome!

yeah he is running a 5.0 versus my 3.0, but displacement doesn't always matter especially when its a ford, i mean v-6 mustangs are 3.8 litre and i spank the [censored] outta those all the time, anyway 95 5.0's have less horse power than my car its just the torque that gets me and his gearing but he doesn't even beat me that bad now, maybe a car length at the most.

that is tru and you are right displacement doesnt always matter and yes torque is a pain in the *** have you ever thought of maybe getting a new close ratio tranny, maybe a new flywheel. there is always port and polish or what about boring out your cats thats only if you dont have emission laws other wise its illegal as hell but what ever you decide as soon as you beat him let me know what route you took im intrested...good luck and please tear him a new one!

i'm going to get an underdrive pulley set from stillen and greddy sp exhaust and then ill see how i do against him, the only thing that sux is by the time i have that stuff he might have alot more done to his car, stuff for mustangs is so god damn cheap.

once again very tru but on the other hand you have a nissan and i hate fords i hate them with a passion so please beat him... by the way where are you located if your anywhere near me maybe we can get together and help each other out. but hey i wish you the best and please beat him oh and careful with the power shifting on the stock clutch if you do it to much your clutch will start to slip but im not saying dont power shift just dont do it all night anyways have fun and i wish you luck

yeah im not a big ford fan either, especially mustangs you know what they say, mustangs are like tampons every *****'s got one. its cool though i know eventually i will be able to beat him it just might take awhile. but anyway i live in harford co. maryland, where u from?

i decided to give in and purchase a half cut jdm 300zx tt. gonna do a swap and use most of the parts in my n/a 2+2. gonna sell the rest of the parts. i'm stoked. i'll teach those mustangs a thing or two. it'll be bad-*** considering they didn't import 2+2 t-tops twin turbos

HEHE....you might think this is funny but i am dead serious. I have a 1990 300zx n/a i have k&n intake, Magnaflow exhaust with H pipe and I have raced a 5.0 and I was able to keep up pretty good with it, no one really one the race because there were cars infornt of us and we had to break, but i was happy cause my car keeped up to a 5.0 it's all about NISSAN!!!!! ............350z here I come...
