wheel fitment

Will a set of 17" x 7.5" 42 offset wheels from a 240sx work on my 85 z31 base with stock 5 star 4 bolt 15"x 6.5" wheels? Bolt patterns the same but the offset goes from 30mm stock to the 42mm aftermarket, from my research they should be fine. HELP!

Well, for anybody that's interested.....I was getting conflicting reports of the stock 15"x6.5" 4 bolt 4x114.3 pattern stock wheels on the 84-85 Z31. Some places state the only made a 14" wheel....no....some state 0 offset....no, some state 30 offset.....maybe...dunno. I eventually found a set of Drag series 17" wheels with a 45 offset (fit fine on a 90's 240sx but found on my 85 Z31 the rears were fine, but the fronts rear spacing hit the struts & center cap protrudes beyond the center cap. Since the stock lugs measured 7/8" in depth, I decided to buy 1" spacers all around to bring them out closer to the fender which will not only make them look better but also give me the backspacing I need with the +45 offset. Be careful in ordering the spacers also, a lot of conversions there. Mine are 25mm (1") 4x114.3 to 4x114.3 that retain the stock 12m X 1.25 thread pattern. Ill update when the spacers arrive per fitment & clearance.

1" spacers did the trick on a test fitment. Im pulling rotors & calipers to paint being you can see them plain as day now.
