T28 upgrade

Hello, I have a few questions about upgrading my turbo. I've got an 86 turbo, the heads are rebuilt, but bottom end is stock. And I was thinking about upgrading turbos, looks like my turbo seals are shot. I've got a Garrett T28 disco potato sitting at home with no current plans, and am thinking about putting it to use. It should be a good match for the VG30 since it's recommended up to 3.0 and 250-350hp or so, so that looks good. But I guess, does anyone know if the 88T manifolds will fit a Garrett T28, from what I gathered it should work because it is supposed to fit a normal T25 mani. And I guess I would need a downpipe from an 88 as well right?

I do assume that the 86 T3 mani and downpipe will be quite different from the 88 T25 mani and dowpipe right?

If anyone has any other thoughts or knowledge on this upgrade please feel free to let me know, I want to scope everything out before doing it. Thank you!

I think the T28 uses the same 4 bolt flange as the T25. The T28 is not much of an upgrade from what ive read. 240sx guys use them. A TO4E would be a good upgrade for any z car, 70-89.
And yes the 84-87 T3 cars have a totaly different downpipe and intake pipe than the T25 88-89 cars

84-87 T3 downpipe is the same as the 88-89 T25 downpipe. It's the elbow that's different on the turbo side.
