Polyurethane subframe bushings? maybe...
Has anyone else done anything about the subframe bushings on their zx? It seems like the only solution is to buy stock rubber or do like Jeff P did and make some solid aluminum ones. I'm not sure how much the solid ones would cost me and theres no way i'm going through all the work of tearing apart my rear suspension just for stock rubber. So, I ordered a set of prothane subframe bushings for a z31 because they are pretty close in size, for only 36 bux. They only need to be trimmed a little bit in diameter. Seems drastic, but I called MSA and they said they won't have the 280zx kit for awhile.
My bushings were so bad out back that I couldn't even drive my car anymore. The caster would change so much when the suspension compressed that i'd be sliding all over the place. Hopefully i'll have some pics so you guys can see what i'm talking about.
So have any of you guys done anything similar? This just seems like the easiest method right now, till someone makes the right kit.

never thought of using the 300zx ones, good idea, its almost the same, so its gotta work. your the pioneer here so let use know. i was gonna weld mine up solid, but i think that may be a bad idea, i already solid mounted my differential, it made no real difference, not even in sound. go figure

MSA is parts for our babies, people who love z's of all kinds--even the bubble-butt newer ones, and events, etc. should be a link somewhere....

alright, got em in...
long hours at work over the weekend kept me from getting this done earlier, but I finished getting them in last night. Ah, the difference is amazing. The rear suspension is a lot tighter.
New bushings out of the box.
Bushings with a little luvin' from the die grinder.
Old bushings being cut out.
Out with the old and squishy...
In with the new.
The subframe cleaned and painted semi flat black. I was going to powdercoat it, but I had less time than money right now.
Next week I have to put in the rear poly control arm bushings when I do the rear wheel bearings.
New bushings out of the box.

Yeah, they're snug. Its pretty much "cut-to-fit." The z31 bushings were a bit bigger in diameter so I just trimmed away a little each time till they fit tight. These seem to have made as much of a difference as the springs and struts.
