Wanted - Nissan part - used OK or aftermarket that fits
For my '86 300ZX turbo, 5-speed - need replacement reverse light switch from the side of the transmission. Nissan part no C2005-06P01, discontinued 2 years and out of stock everywhere, even Canada.
Foto: Aftermarket switch that doesn't fit. The threaded bolt diameter is too small by about 1mm. From China with love - through Auto Parts Warehouse (net)
Anybody have one - or know how to check with Japan for it?
Thanks for your help

Checked out the Aussie parts place and the threaded shaft diam is the same 14mm as the Chinese aftermarket switch I bought from Auto Parts Warehouse.
SO, still looking. If anybody has one, just let me know. Diam of threaded shaft is probably 15mm. There were two trannies installed on the '86 turbo. That's the confusion. The one I have requires a 15mm diam switch.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Part found, problem solved!
Looking for the Nissan OEM part (C2005-06PO1) was a waste. Nissan dropped it 2 years ago and nobody in North America had one on the shelf. (amazing that someone on the phone could tell me that in under 2 mins... think about that~)
Thanks to Ken99 who clued me in about Ford and other US mfrs who used the same Borg Warner T-5 tranny as my '86 turbo 5-speed - where the OEM part failed and took out my reverse lights.
With a little modification of the connector end (cut leads, strip, solder to terminals), Ford part #SW-1694 fit perfectly. I have my reverse lights back. My Z girl is happy again, running perfect (with exactly ONE Ford Mustang part... made in Mexico)
Thanks again, guys!

Thanks, Borini! The weirdest thing is that this foreign (Ford Horse) car part is sticking... deep into my Z baby - right into the middle of her perfect, tight little tranny (ouch!) - but she likes it! I think she even loves it! Damn. Who knew?

Very same part was used in the T-4, which was used in the PINTO, if that makes you feel any better....

Right, ken99, the famous Ford Pinto! The local Ford dealer's parts guy was really sharp. He pointed out the errors in the Wikipedia list of mfrs/models using the BW T-5 tranny. He mentioned the Pinto and smiled at the non-existent Falcon models - and told me that Ford never sold their '88-'89 Sierra in the US. Wikipedia still needs some work. Thanks again for your help. Reverse!
