All in favor of doing the Hoover Dam Photo shoot on the 12th of March, 2006...

For a daytime shot, anytime from 11:00 am to 2:30pm is good (little shadowing from canyon walls).

I think a daytime shot would turn out better than nighttime.

 

The best time for a shoot in a place like Hoover Dam would be right around 5-6PM. The lighting will be optimal.

You want the sun to have just barely started sinking into the horizon.

 

Because of the canyon walls at that specific location, after 2:30 p.m., heavy shadowing occurs. I suspect in march, this will happen a tad later, maybe cl,oser to 3:00p.m.

Maybe the shadows will work for us (I suck at photography, except at crime scenes). If you want to come out to the dam to look the area over, let me know and I can work something out.

 

Just realized, is anyone's schedule gonna be a problem with this date due to the NASCAR event on that day?

Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

GASP! Forgot that it was this weekend. I have to work the Nascar races all weekend. Plus I still don't have my car.

 

Everything is still a go for this weekend. Hopefully most who signed up can attend. Was not easy to set this up. I got the final approval back yesterday from Washington DC. The times I have it scheduled for is 1200-1500 on Sunday.

I was thinking we could meet beforehand for lunch. Anyone have a place in mind?

 

Yeah, sorry guys and gals but I'm not going to be able to make it this weekend. I have to work at the Speedway for NASCAR and World of Outlaws. I'll be busy all weekend !

Aye, we have some admin folks who don't care for the police too much. They were pulling all sorts of BS. So I just went around them to a buddy of mine in DC who greased all the wheels.

I'll probably meet you all at the dam - why don't we arrange a 2nd meeting place at one of the smaller parking lots on the AZ side at 11:45 for those of us who are sleeping in late??? I'm guessing that side is where we descend from, so I'll be at the first lot on the AZ side between 1130 and 1145.

 

No need to cross the dam to get where we're going.

Maybe a BC location would work.
