Mini tech session.

I'm thinking about changing my plugs and differential fluid tonight if anyone has minor stuff to do swing on by.

rob209 07-24-2005 08:24 PM

Why are you changing plugs?

roneski 07-25-2005 05:23 AM

Mainly because I want to check the condition of the old ones. Make sure that they are even, not too white, not too black etc.

I didn't get around to it yesterday, I may do it tonight.

Yogi 07-25-2005 07:13 AM

What time? Give me a ring. I may be available to help.

roneski 07-25-2005 07:20 AM

Cool, what days do you have off Ray?

Yogi 07-25-2005 08:24 AM

Tomorrow is actually better for me, it was a hellishly long day at work trying to get signals hit by lightning back up and running. Mother Nature is a bitch.

scoobybri 07-26-2005 11:30 AM

Are you still doing the mini tech today? If so, what time? I've got some fog lights that need to go one of the Miatas. I might swing by if you are doing it later (8PM or so)

roneski 07-26-2005 12:32 PM

8:00p is a little late for me since I have to work early tomorrow.

scoobybri 07-26-2005 03:01 PM

Okee...I have to visit a friend in the hospital and won't be back until 8 or so. What about this weekend?

roneski 07-26-2005 09:13 PM

OK, so after putting in a 17 hour day today I may just push this off until next week.

roneski 08-22-2005 05:41 AM

So I finally got around to changing my plugs to the Denso Iridiums and diff fluid. The plugs were fairly easy though working through all of the wires and hoses was a little annoying.

The old plugs were ok condition though the ones closest to the front of the car were slightly white and to ones to the rear were slightly black. This is consistent with the uneven air flow condition that the new plenums are supposed to correct.

There was a little metal on the magnet in the diff fluid, but the Amsoil is in now and I feel better about it.

I'm ready for the next TNSW.

vegas_speedster 08-22-2005 06:26 AM

How does it feel now? Any smoother, idle more stable?

roneski 08-22-2005 06:30 AM

It does feel a bit smoother actually. And it seems a bit quicker too, but that could just be placebo affect. Only way to tell is to take it to the track.

Yogi 08-22-2005 08:19 AM

Wow! I almost forgot about this thread.

Different grades of fluids can make a nice differance in the way things work. Hopefully your times at the strip will relect that.

rob209 08-22-2005 10:25 AM

Next TNSW is 9/1. I'm going for sure.
