So what's the total price on this little project? You're making me change my mind about not getting that hood btw.

I don't even want to add it up lol. Actually a good portion of the money for the extra parts came from selling off a lot of my old stuff.

Ive never liked the nismo wheels much.. but those actually look sexy

rob209 01-19-2006 02:01 PM

Nah, not right now. After I get the CF hatch and maybe some doors I might consider re-painting the car Graphite Gray Pearl from the Lexus IS300s...

Like I said before, I want Mikey's job!

pope 01-19-2006 02:25 PM

how much do those seats cost?? i really like em. what harnesses are you using with the seats?

oh, and i want your job too :D

SinCity350Z 01-19-2006 02:30 PM

The seats retail for $279 each and then its $89 and 4-5 weeks for the fabrication of the brackets for the Z. All together its still cheaper than a Sparco or Bride seat alone. My sponsorship agreement with them states that I must use their harnesses as well, so I am running their 5-Point harnesses, which I was a little leary of at first because I wanted a more established name like Simpson or G-Force, but now that I have driven with them they seem to be put together very well.

thats a great price. i dont know how much i would like having fixed back seats... and i definately dont think my wife would like it much :) how much do the stock seats/sliders weight?

I don't know. I didn't weigh them when I took them out, which I should have done, but at the time I got my old Corbeaus I wasn't too worried about weight. I do know this though....

Corbeau CR1 Seat = 27 lbs.
Corbeau FX1 Pro Seat = 19 lbs.
Corbeau Bracket = Approx. 5 lbs.
Corbeau 5-Point harnesses = Approx. 3 lbs each

Two Corbeau CR1s (reclineable) with brackets and harnesses = approx. 70 lbs...

One Corbeau FX1 Pro with one bracket and harness = approx. 27 lbs.

70 - 27 = 43 lbs. weight savings!

pope 01-19-2006 03:02 PM

what are you doing with the old ones and what color are they?

They are the CR1s in all black. You can find them at www.corbeau.com. I am keeping one of them to throw in when I have passengers, but I am willing to sell the other one, and if I don't sell it I am turning it into an office chair lol.

speedlimits 01-19-2006 03:42 PM

love the nismo wheels

ensmuns 01-19-2006 03:48 PM

The office chair is a great idea. I've seen Sparco sell their racing seats as chairs.

Corbeau has a kit where you can turn any of their seats into an office chair.

pope 01-19-2006 04:03 PM

how much would you want for it? do you have the extra slider too?

How about $300? That saves $100 off of the retail and saves you shipping. The slider I am keeping to use with my new seat. They are sold as a pair anyway.

SinCity350Z 01-19-2006 04:06 PM

The tires on the right are the ones I will be running on the rear of my Z. Both tires are 315/30/18, the one on the left is a Michellin Pilot Sport Cup and the one on the right is a Nitto NT01. I don't know why the Nitto is bigger, but I also don't care since it still doesn't rub!

Because I know this question is coming...wheels are an 18" x 9.5" Nismo LMGT4 +30 offset. And yes that is a bit wide for a 9.5" rim, but it still works. This same setup has been run on the track by VRT for quite some time, but with the Sport Cup tire instead of the NT01.

steamrollers. i love it. so you're going with nitto instead, huh? the tire on the left looks like a pirelli pzero.

I don't know what tire it is lol. Yeah I am going with Nitto instead, they are apparently a way better tire, and the 275/35/18s supposidly have a larger contact patch than the Pirelli or Michellin 285/30/18s...

okay, i want to look at them when we get to vegas. you said it takes corbeau 4-6 weeks to make sliders or did you have them made through someone else?

those tires look nasty :D

Awesome! I had Corbeau make my sliders. If I were you I would sit in them first to make sure you like them before you order the sliders and the 2nd seat.

No rush pope. I always have the office chair back up plan lol.
