The 350Z is a very competitive autocross car, even stock, so you have no excuse not to come out. Autocross also helps your daily driving by letting you know the limits of your car. I would highly recomend autocross to anybody who has not tried it.

Mike and John....

What do you 2 think of this Toyo - I want to get a tire that can handle autox and the track, this looks like a good choice. If nothing else, it's a stepping stone to Hoosiers.

Rob,
The RA-1 is a well proven track day tire . Its not as grippy as the newer Kumho's or Hoosiers are , but it will last for a heck of a lot longer . If they aren't shaved they can even be used in the rain and also be driven to the track.

Mike

Yeah the RA1s are, in my opinion, the best alternative to full race tires.

mbonanni1856 03-23-2005 12:15 PM

I will bring my 350Z out for this event. The car should be in B Stock, but I am going to run it in ASP to keep all my points in the same class.

rob209 03-29-2005 10:47 AM

Just ordered some Yoko A032Rs to throw on my stock 17" wheels. 235/40 and 255/40. Should be here Thursday. Also pre-registered today.
Being bored at work gets kinda expensive sometimes.

mbonanni1856 03-29-2005 10:54 AM

^^^ I can vouch for that.

I'll be out heat cycling my tires somewhere this weekend - the guy at tirerack recommended 20 minutes of track-like driving. Anyone know a good spot to do this without getting arrested, preferably in Henderson?

Nforce1 04-07-2005 04:54 PM

Well, I found out the wedding that I was going to has been moved to May, so I guess I can show to this. Possibly race?? Who knows!

Last week when I needed to bed in a new set of brake pads I went to the mall at midnight and did my thing.

Nforce1 04-07-2005 08:09 PM

lolololololol

mbonanni1856 04-07-2005 09:22 PM

I went to the site of the new Red Rock Casino to bed my brakes, but I got busted.

What happend?

mbonanni1856 04-07-2005 10:05 PM

The security guy just came and talked to me about street racing and how "he had a 10 second Eclipse" then he let me do one more 80mph to 10mph stop and kicked me out.

Nforce1 04-07-2005 10:29 PM

hahaha thats funny

Nforce1 04-07-2005 10:31 PM

Im actually kinda worried about tracking my car... I dunno how the brakes hold up and all that. I guess there's only one way to find out.

scoobybri 04-07-2005 10:37 PM

Don't worry about it! I'm taking out the 'ol 99 Miata with 75k on it with the original clutch and rear brake pads. If anyone is going to have something break, it's gonna be me!

I had my stock Enthusiasts on the track for the 1st time 2 weeks ago in Pahrump. The odometer just turned 2K so I figured it was time to try it out. I was VERY IMPRESSED by how it preformend. I did eight 20 minute sessions and no brake fade at all.

mbonanni1856 04-07-2005 10:44 PM

Autocross really isn't too hard on your breaks. Since the runs are short, your pads/fluid do not heat up to dangerous temperatures as opposed to track days where there are 30 min sessions and you are hard on the brakes from higher speeds.
