If it's just scarred, I'd try to sand or file down any burrs and put a pulley back on. I worked on a z with the same problem, and the key slot damadged to the point where the key fit sloppy. We put it back together anyways, and there haven't been any problems. Plus it was only 1 of the 3 keys. If it's real bad, I'd try to "restore" the area by welding and machining it. Its such a small area and really not that critical in my eyes. But I could be way off.
