Performance Cam

Hello All,

I own a 1981 280ZX non-turbo, and I have the following mods:
-cold air intake
-Converted Turbo AFM
-Big throat Throttle body
-Rising rate fuel pressure regulator
-headers
-Random technologies hiflow cat
-targa exhaust

My question is would a mild performance cam improve horsepower?

thanks,

VernonZ

Yes, a mild one would work excellent with what you have now without opening up the engine. 260 duration or 270 max .450 lift max.

A midrange or wild cam would be good but only with higher compression and also you'll still have less torque and maybe an irregular idle with those. The mild cams are great for street driving and should of been what these cars came with from the factory.

Me or him? I don't think either of us have a performance ECU. Motorsport auto only makes them for the turbo 280zx from what I remember.
