does anyone know the symptoms of a bad distributor. My problem is i can get the car started but it won't idle right like the idle is set to low but the real problem is that if i get above 2000 rpms it will just make this real loud noise coming from the front of the car and it won't rev any higher would this be a distributor problem or does anyone know?

actually, the best way to test it is to unplug it. if the idle smooths out, the problem is the AFM.
