Stock Alarm HELP
I recently purchased a 90 300ZX. I have a problem with the stock alarm system. Currently it thinks that there is a door ajar because I have that indication on my dash" door ajar". The alarm is constantly alarming so I had to pull a fuse to deenergize the alarm. That unfortunately deenergizes my alot of my console so I would like to either find the problem or just find the alarm unit loccally and disable it. I know that all the sensors work properly because I took them apart. The door ajar light indication that I have is a DIM indication and not a full light, like when I open the door normally it is alot brighter. So I believe it is grounded out somewhere on the door light indication. The problem is I don't know where the alarm system is so that I can cut power out to it locally. If you know of anything could you please repley. I am against the ropes with this one. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Stock Alarm HELP
I"m not sure if the alarm system in the 2nd gens is the same as the 1st, but I have an 85 300ZXT, and it kept telling me that my right door was open, even tho I can assure you, it wasn't. But I thought it was a ground at first, cuz my window on that side is missing a ground (window goes down, doesn't come up, motor and switch work perfectly) but lo and behold, the striker plate on the sill had moved just a little tiny bit, just enough to trip the sensor. I don't know if that's your problem, but if you're stuck, try loosening the latch plate on the sill and move it in just a little bit, tighten it up, and see if it helps. Mine didn't talk much at first, but it got worse and worse over time until I had to crank my stereo up real loud to drown my lady out (right door is open... right door is open...) (aftermarket stereo)
Hope that helps!
