1991 TT manual transmission problem
1991 TT manual transmission problem
Hey ya'll, noob here going to ask some questions about my tranny in 91 TT.
anyway, recently I have been noticing that my transmission has been getting harder to put into 1st and reverse. I looked over the web and saw that a "fix" to this is to extend the clutch pedal bolt out and into the booster. I did so, and it worked for a few days. The other day I was driving and after a bit it was almost impossible to get the car into 1st. Also, when in gear (like waiting at a stop light, which I don't normally do, but was doing because it was a B to get into any gear) if you let off the clutch pedal, the car would move forward (as if the clutch was engaging). All the while trying to get to the dealer locally, I could not get it into 1st as you would really need to slam it in.
Dealer looked at it, told me I need a new clutch/flywheel/pivot fork/master. Now, I did recently replace the master and the slave (and bled them properly), probably within the last year or so. (that is when this same kind of stuff started to happen and the dealer told me then I needed a clutch). Any ideas what it could be? Could it be maybe a pinhole in one of the clutch lines? could the slave have gone again? Dealer wants me to pay over 1k to get it fixed. thanks!

Could be your clutch fork, the z32 clutch fork isnt that strong so look into that first to see if it bent or not and if it is look into getting a 350z clutch as they are stronger then the 300zx's
