turbo z sputters and backfires

Ever since the car cut off on me while driving a month back it just hasn't ran right. Before replacing the dizzy I could easily boost 12psi all day. Now it sputters at random boost pressures. Mainly does it under wot boosting. When it does I can let off a little and get into it again and it'll boost right past the issue area. However the area is never the same. Replaced dizzy cap and rotor. Have tried swapping coils and power transistors. No change. Have also replaced some couplers thinking of leaks. Smoke test shows no vac leaks.
We checked a couple plugs when replacing dizzy and they looked alright. It all started after the break down. Have tried adjusting ignition timing with the dizzy. No change. It also has backfired a couple times. Never predictably though.

Run a diagnostics test on the ECU to rule out sensors.

Diagnostics for code 12 issues can be found in the factory service manual at XenonZ31 Reference. Look in the EF&EC section.
