What is it that makes it ricey?
Is it the fact that it actually adds real horsepower?
Is it the fact that it is designed for performance, rather than appearance?
Is it the fact that it is NOT available in different colors?
Look around and see what else you can find...all the others got pretty colors and stupid looking cone covers over them and stuff like that.
It's a filter, very few people will actually spend money to dyno test various air filters. K&N has been around for years and established a gooe reputation for cars, boats, jetskis, motorcycles and more.

You can stick with your stock filter and resonator. Or you can goto Pep Boys and buy one of those little pop charger air filters that come in diffrent colors. K&N though is not rice (you spelled it wrong.) They make filters for carbs also. Chances are if you see a 1970 Camaro SS, it may have a K&N filter, then that car will proceed to hand you your [censored] on a plater if you try to race him.

a friend had a huge K&N filter on his 65 mustang its like one of those round dish ones....carbed afcourse...told him to get a 2 barrel carb and a 4 speed trany and paint it black with white interior......but his parents went red with white ugh so many of em out there....i dunt know why they dont listen to me!!!!!!
