actually once you remove the turn signals and that dam license plate bracket they become VERY aerodynamic when your all tucked in, that and its just as easy to to fix up a bike as it is a car the only problem is that you have to tune it afterwords, but with the power of the interwebs it only takes a couple minutes to download the right maps, that and a few 1 liter bikes run post 10's from factory. snw i daily drive my R1, if you just going to work and back or going to the parts store its fine, but excessive riding on the street sucks when your doing for business and not for fun, that and $12k for something that can do 200+ MPH while being stock it pretty dam good IMO..

^^^ That sounds like something I'd expect to hear from somebody that knows absolutely nothing about motorcycles. Extra power is relative when you take power to weight ratio into consideration. An aftermarket pipe in a bike will usually free up at least 15hp if not more if the carbs or fuel injection are tuned to match which on a 450lb bike would be much more noticable than in a 2500-3000lb car. Also an air shifter which works great on the drag strip, doesn't work so well on the street, electronic shift interupters found on some aftermarket ignition modules work much better for street use since you don't need to stop to fill an air tank after each use. On the original topic of this thread, I'd love to have a black GTR. I like how the black sort of hides the front grill, and overall just gives it a much cleaner look in my opinion.

lol, never said squat about power to weight bud, just said they are tuned really well from factory so other than freeing up the flow its much harder to bring HP from a bike than it is a car, because of emissions and such they are actually de-tuned. people and their reading comprehension. if already re-built multiple dirtbikes (not teh same i know) and a 90's ninja ZX600. i know my way around a bike, both riding and maintanence, and also love listening and reading so i do research quite often. been about 4-6 months since i did some crotch rocket research but i have a feeling nothing has changed to drastically since then. and then this also takes place with the aerodynamics i speak of, they arent shaped poorly, its teh weight. the inertial mass into the relative wind is much more detrimental to lighter objects, its a reverse power to weight ratio, its power to drag now. and im deleting all my previous posts to this that dont have anthing to do with the GTR because its pretty unfair to rod.

ur a tool, make fun of the english if you want because i know i type crappy on my laptop, but trust me i know what im talking about as far as what im argueing, and until anyone can bring up proof otherwise, im stikin to it. second, i have respect for peoples threads so when it turns to just me an one other person having a pissing contest in another thread over something off topic, i feel bad for them, and delete my posts and tell them to make a new thread if they want to continue this conversation.

do you realize how much emissions crap is on a bike? and how LEAN most bike run from factory? not to mention most people dont really aim for power on a bike, just get the tunem, exhaust and play with the gearing and your set.

hmmm... i forgot about an upgarded sprocket... touchey.... on ur R1 1st gear takes you up to 80 doesnt it? soo much range. and emmissions is diff on bike. they are leaned, but if you richen you'll loose power, leaner is for more HP until you cross the barrier and detonate. there is a muffler and no other emmisions on a bike really. but seriously, can we just make a new thread for this or drop it....

well pcv isnt just emissions, its for crank car ventilation. you need it for healthy motor. and is there really a cat? meh! full system all that is gone and no one cares after that.

EDIT: arizona is teh only state that tests motocycle emmisions, their standards allow motorcycles to produce more than 2 times the amount of HC (1.45) and CO (12) than cars and has no limit on NOx productions. also, they dont have cats. from factory is a non researched header to a restrictive muffler. thats all folks. and some a valve and of course O2 sensor. man hoov im loosin faith in ur claims

never said it was effecient. lol. and teh ZX14 only has like 6 or was it 3 more hp than the busa and 100 more cc's.... well.... that actually kinda makes sense almost. you should make around 10hp per 100cc's, at least thats how it works on R/C 2 stokers, so id imagine with much much more displacement and DOHC and efi it would increase in efficiency like that. but yeah, im all argued out, to many variations and alternatives/possibilities. im hungry now. and i might go sneak onto campus to get some booty!!!

From what I've seen, all the sportbikes are so close in performance in each displacement class, that it all comes down to the rider in a race. Snw, hp on most sportbikes now is above 10hp per 100cc's. by your guesstimate, a 600cc sportbike would only be around 60hp. My '90 60 Katana is putting down right around 105hp to the ground, and it's weak compaired to the newer stock 600's. Hoov, I have to wonder about the cat on your bike, I'm wondering if that is a CA only emissions package or something. I haven't noticed cats on any of the new bikes up here in OR. I love the performance and handling on the sportbikes, but now that I'm getting older, my back can't handle being bent so far over reaching for the bars for more than about a half hour at a time anymore. Someday I want to buy a cruiser like the Roadstar Warrior, or a Harley Streetrod and set it up as a streetable drag bike. Thought about going with a used V-max and buying a turbo or blower kit for it, since there's so much available for the V-max, but the handling and suspension sucks bad on those compaired to just about every other bike made today.
