I just got a S30 Today. 76 280Z 2 seater. And a Cooling Fan will Not fit on this car. the motor sits to close the the radator. how close is your's. And the fuel pump will not come on. There's a toggle switch hooked up to it to make it come on so we can start the car. Any One knows these two problems?

 

fuel pump seems to be a comon problem...our didnt work when (sorry i dont know the names for parts on this car) the afm i think was bad, had a bad connection. its the thing in the intake line that moves a slide when you throttle up or down... once that was replaced it worked...then the connection to the fuel pump just went gay. make sure they wires arent hooked up backwards on the fuel pump it wont run (our was) and a cooling fan as in an electic one infront of the radiator or like a clutch fan mounted on the motor? cause ours sits pretty far foward, and it cool where it is whne you rev it up you can see the fan blades flex as they pull. i can take pics if ya want

 

i am not new to Z's, I own two ZX's. Umm yeh i noticed it sits Way forward. And i can't get blades on there. I tryed even just strait blade fans with no clutch. just no room for fan.

 

i knw your not new to Z's and that you had and have zx's...but you asked how close is yours...so i thought ambye you would want a pic for comparison. and my terminology for this car sucks...i know it as that thingy...

 

i was not trying to be mean or nothin. srry if i sounded that way. how does the factory fan fit on these things?

 

never chagned it...well i didnt...i would ask my dad since he has done jsut about everything on his 75 280z but he is sleeping....so i cnat help you there...tonight.
