Post And....here's what I do at my job

Here are few photos of what I've been doing this week at my office.

My company's getting ready to setup DR (Disaster Recovery) site in case our corporate office gets damaged by the 'lovely' hurricanes we get every year.
So, my coworker and I have been busy getting all new network hardware in place and ready for this coming summer. We started working on this site this week on Monday and here's what's been done so far. It may not look as much, but we still have to load programs and configure those things.

Pictures are not that good since I took them from my camera phone.

It's the chumps accidently backfeeding the power lines with their generators that will spell doom for electrical equipment.

The servers are not in my office; the location is a DR building...it's sort of a bunker. The building has redundant everything...from power to network lines. The building houses a power substation in there, so power's guaranteed. A lot of the high tech companies (Google, Yahoo, Cisco, etc) have their backup systems in that building.

Oh, and yes...everything's on the second floor of the building.

Never lost power on a certain part of key biscayne last year during wilma.

I'll bet that bell building with all the switching equipment that also interfaces a huge underwater cable is responsible for that.
