Ok so a friend of mine bought me 12" audio pipe subwoofer along with a 1000 watt amp, and i thought to my self ok if its free no big deal..... Well 15 mins after instaling it all Bloop! went the altenator. So I get a friend of mine to take me down to Firstone (its 300 ft. form my house) and i ask them how much to put a new one on, they told me $260.... so i did it my self. My friend took me down to nappa and after the Core chare it cost me a total of $90 so i jacked up my car with a jack made for a GEO meto (my Friends car) and proceeded to do this. Unboldting it wasnt the hard part, getting it out of posistion and of the belt and out of the car was. 20 or so mins went by anf my arms were completly useless, Then just when it was looking grim I pulled my self out form the car and i guess my hand was on the lower fan gaurd and SNAP its gose. The fan gaurd fell on the ground and the altenator fell on to my Chest!

Anyone know why my voltage would go from about 12 to 18 and back to 12 about twice every second, Even when the amp for my system isnt in the car, and at night my lights strobe like a cop car(inside and out)

Never Mind it turned out to be my Ground wire was loose... =P

 

Voltage regulator could be bad, need to get an ohm meter and put it on your battery and watch it. High voltage could fry your Ignition module.

 

Ya it ended up just being my ground wire... It cam loose and was wiggeling around, I ended up taking my system out last night. I mihgt put it back in later but Im gonna hve to mount it down, i took a turn at about 40 and it about went threw my car heh so.... you know + its rather heavy...
