I could live with that in light of the fact that the whole damn car is brand spanking new.

There were twin black & red 10th aniv 280zx's on ebay about 2 years ago. The auction was for both. Each had about 1000 miles.... and they sold for just about $30k.

Not to take away from an obviously great deal, but how can a car spend it's entire life in a showroom and have 8500 miles on it?? That's lower than hell, I know, and that car looks AWESOME (commercials, get it??), but I was just wondering if it had a LOT of test drives or what....

Maybe I'm being too picky about it....

That IS one clean ride, though!!!!

Those miles are the signs of the perks of being a sales manager at a dealership My Step dad was a sales manager for Ford for a LONG time and he got to bring home what ever he wanted. He'd park it back at the lot during work hours and if it sold he could pick out something else. His dealer once got an original 64 1/2 Mustang rebuilt by FORD with 0 miles on the odometer and he brought it home the first day they had it. It sold the next day though. Those mile are probably years of managers cruising that beast around He even got to drive a 351 Saleen for a couple of weeks. Of course he was only allowed to put so many miles on each vehcle before he had to turn it back in and choose something else.

Well I guess you could say that's low miles. I mean its only like 242,000 less than my Z. Give or take a couple thousand

If i owned that dealership. I would leave it in the show room. A sweet classic car like that. Owning a car in that great of condition would be great. but then you would be afriad to customize it. Don't want to mess up a perfect car.

^ That's why you buy a beater Z. Think of it, if you owned that dealership, you'd have the cash for a couple Zed sleds.

Yeah that car is quite rare for that low of miles. Man that is a big piece of gold history. And I am not a big fan of gold. But if I had that Z like that, it would stay original through and through. I wouldn't want to desecrate that fine and perfect of a machine. It would be a cool display, and conversational piece.

I say who cares. As far as I'm concerned the low miles just means that the engines gonna last me a little longer (hopefully). Look at it like this: You could go out and buy a brand new Z with 0 miles on it. Would that stop you from modifying it? Sure as hell wouldn't stop me. My wallet would stop me, but the mileage wouldn't. Then you gotta figure that NONE of the 280zx's are considered collectors cars so it's not like your desicrating something important. Nobody cares about the ZX except for those who own them and that's just a fact of life. It's not the orignal, it's not the latest or greatest. It's just filler to the automotive world. The closest thing the 280ZX has to being somewhat of a collectible is the ZXR. But even that is just considered a low volume trim package and not really considered anything special outside of the Z arena. I always laugh at the guys who saved their whole lives to buy that Ferrari or Viper and just to watch it sit in the garage cause it's too "special" to drive. What a joke. Car's are meant to be driven. That's why they've got wheels and a means of self propulsion. A car is a piece of metal through and through and the only thing special a car holds is sentimental value. "Oh but it's such a nice car and I don't want anything to happen to it" or "It'll be worth more if the mileage is low". THose are the two excuses I hear most about not driving cars. Well I'm sorry but there are some things more important to me than my car, like my son. I'm not going to lock him up for fear that something might happen to him. And he's a little more replaceable than a car dont you think? And then the whole why'd you even buy the car if you're just going to stick it in the garage for a few years with no intention of driving it just so you can sell it with low mileage? I've never understood the whole not driving the damn car thing and everyones obsession with low mileage. High mileage just means someone got to enjoy the damn thing. The real abuse is not driving the car. If I wanted a low mileage car I'd buy something a little newer that's supposed to have low miles on it. Maybe I'm way off base here but that's just my opinion

I agree wholeheartedly with jfairladyz. All these people who talk of wanting an old Mustang, Pontiac GTO, etc. It's stupid because you'd pay so much to have it sit and drive it on occasion maybe to car shows and what not. Although something like a black gold AEZX would hold more value to a fellow Z owner like me and would probably be driven just not as much, but in that essence, it would essentially be a waste. Besides it's a Datsun, and if you guys remember correctly. The slogan wasn't to be stored, but Datsun was Driven! I love you Datsun.

Well I know it was: We are Driven, at least for the 280ZX commercials, but oneof the many slogans was Shift into AWESOME for the 280ZX.
