I once had a 3 foot long two by four get kicked up at me while I was riding my Nighthawk 750 on the freeway. There was nothing I could do but hold on really tight. It hit me straight across the chest and both biceps. Knocked the wind out of me and bruised me up really bad. I barely was able to pull off to the side of the freeway where I sat for about half an hour before I could finish the ride home. Of course, that was still nothing compared to the GMC 1500 4x4 that blew through an intersection at 80 MPH and nailed me almost directly head on... that one hurt a little bit more
. 47 broken bones, countless cuts and bruises, 20 odd corrective surgeries and 6 months in the hospital. I would have much rather hit the turkey instead.

. Turned the car into a beer can and put myself back in the hospital for a long time with some pretty good internal injuries as well as having my front five top teeth ripped out of my mouth with the bone still attatched to them... that was some big fun there. Only took 3 surgeries to put my face back together. I drove a lot more conservatively after that one...
Best part was that I got to remain completly conscious through both wrecks...Rod.
Damn Rod. That's crazy. All of this reminds of a MLB game. I forget who was playing but the pitcher threw a fast ball right as a bird was flying across his path and it literally exploded. All you saw was feathers. lol.

glad you're still with us after all that
i don't know if i would still be into cars after a horrifying accident like that. i've always wanted a crotch rocket but i've known way too many people who have lost their lives at a very young age riding those. that is what has always stopped me from getting one

Yeah, I'm sure he didn't feel to good about the whole thing either. I'm pretty sure he flew off, since I didn't see him hit the ground and I was only doing about 20MPH. He kinda just slid sideways off the fairing...Probably scared both of us pretty good...
