ya that spacer is nice!

I'm running a T5 in my car. Bolts right up to the back of the engine.

Short answer is no.

However, most T4 upgrades on these cars are actually T3/T4 hybrids. They use a T3 impeller wheel to mount on the stock T3 exhaust manifold and a T4 compressor wheel on the compressor side. So it's basically a T3 exhaust side bolted to a T4 compressor side.

In order to do a 'real' T4 (both impeller and compressor wheels) you would have to significantly modify the exhaust manifold with a new T4 mount.

Some people will just install a T3 to T4 adapter flange to the stock manifold but this can cause clearance problems with the steering rack.

Here's an example of how it 'could' be done although it also creates clearance problems but with other engine components:

With the adapter I have A GT40 compressor woulda fit but like you say the steering box woulda been an issue.. I could have pulled the spacer out an inch and angled it to fit.. But the smallest they make for a gt40 is .92 so its not worth it..
