'73 240z

How much interest is there for a '73 240Z parts car? The body is quit rusty so I do not believe that there are any usable body parts (I think I'm using the hood, but not sure yet) but the drive train is entact and was running when the car was parked a couple years ago (I am keeping the carbs and intakes, fuse box and maybe the front grill). Other than that the car is entact and complete with ALL perfect glass (I hate to let the glass go), the dash is cracked just as most all of them are. The gas tank has been cleaned out and the fuel lines are new as I was told by the previous owner who is a reliable and trustworthy guy (he's a member here). Car is orange with black interior (is NOT the one in my gallery or my advitar).

If people are intersted please tell me how much you would pay for it. I'm trying to raise some money to fund another 240Z. If nobody is interested or the prices are not good then I will just strip it down and part it out but I'd rather sell it whole and save the time and effort of parting it out (probably would get more by parting it out though).

for those interested there are now pix of the car available on my website at http://www.pape.ws/gallery/Parts_Car and for those who have broadband you can download the zip file which contains all of the pix from http://www.pape.ws/hosted_pix/ but I warn you, the file is about 90meg.

I am willing to trade this car for a used car trailer! Maybe even some money plus the car to keep the trade even.

Parting Out!!

Ok, no takers on the whole car so I'm going to part it out. Name your part and your price and I'll let you know if it's available, what condition it's in, pix if possible, etc.

71240Z, I can do that. How quickly do you need it and where are you located? Total will be price + all shipping & crating charges unless of course you are close enough to come pick it up.

I live in Austin, right in the middle of the state. Sorry, but I'm not pulling a working tranny apart to sell just one part out of it, it needs to be sold as a whole unit. Where are you?

Not exactly, but I will be going to Lindsay, Oklahoma in a few weeks to pick up a car trailer. This is much closer to you than my house but still a little bit of a drive. I'd be glad to pull the tranny and bring it along with me if you would like me to and are willing to meet me there (or on I-35 near or south of Lindsay).

EDIT
Just checked on Mapquest and Lindsay is a little more than 1/2 to you from where I live (354 miles from me and 292 miles from you).

I have heard that they weigh around 80lbs but I truely don't know for sure. I would expect that it would have to go via truck freight. I sent a 27" arcade monitor (not quite as heavy but much larger) to Minn. several months back via Forward Air (a trucking company) and it was about $60 from terminal to terminal (I had to drop it off and the buyer had to pick it up). Hope this helps some.

No, it will be 3-4 weeks before I'm going. I have to wait on the manufacturer to build the trailer for me and this is the time frame they gave me.

Exactly where are the rust spots on the car because i live in south texas and would really be interested in it. Does it have a title for it, and i wouldn't need the tranny. All i am interested in is the body. thanx

If you can find one, a new transmission from Nissan would be about $1200. Having a shop rebuild a transmisison is at least $200 but more likely $400-500... But a 4-speed transmission isn't worth much these days. $50 is reasonable.
