Vg30 S13?
 
Sooooo i got bored today, and well figured I can sell by RB set up for more than enough Dugh to do an VG30 Swap. the RB20 puts out 220HP turbo. the VG30 N/A puts out the same amount of power however its more torque / better throttle responce. So I was thinking of swaping it out. Fabrocation is not a problem I work for a Nascar Team now so we got alot of friggin equipment and tools. what do you guys think? i know there are a few out there but its only a hand full. ha ha or maby if funds allow it try a VG30DETT swap? Single turbo? ha ha i don;t know what do you guys think?

ha ha we'll see, but something about the smaller engine bay bugs me. =) The S chassis has a bigger bay, plus if I do get a Z I will Mod it and It Wont be my daily. Soooooooo I think a Z heart in a lighter platform will be good. plus the experience wont Hurt don;t you think?

To Have Fun, and have as many engines as I can before I deside what power plant I wanna stick with. The KA and SR are definetly not it. RB is really nice. but Im curious about the VG platform

sooo, your going to use the same body you had your SR and RB in? what the hell are you doing with all these motors? i could take one off your hands if your just letting them sit idley on the floor in your garage somewhere or something

the vg is a great platform. stock the bottom end can hold more then u can think. i think u can safely get 450 with out doing some mods but the bottom end can hold 1000hp. its truly a unique design. i fell in love with the vg since i help rebuild a vg. with a healthy cam head work and all the goodies it will be beast. as in goal i did not mean what u want to do i meant how much power do u plan to make and how much money do u want to spend?

yeah I know the VG30DETT is a great bottom end just as Solid as a supra. I know the motor set is going to run me arround 2K or 2500. for a turbo. or an N/A is 1500. Horse power Im not looking for allot, however im looking for reliable power. I know the RB25 can Deliver me 300HP no Problem with all stock innternals, simple Turbo Upgrade, Intake Manifold, Injectors and Power FC. (Im pretty much looking for reliable happy All Day 300WHP)

lol the SR blew up, i parted it out, However I am selling my RB to fund the VG project (Just how i sold the SR to fund the RB project lol) so if you are serious and wanna work something out. hit me up. bardabe@Msn.com is my email

i was talking about the vg30e and vg30et. they come in the z31. the vg30dett is alot bigger then the vg30e't. it has dual tb so unless you make a intake with one huge tb you will need to keep TT. do u plan to use the stock ecu?i know wont u want know if it fits until u get the engine in the bay but have u measured the engine vs the engine bay? and vg30de and vg30det have the same tranny just different locations of the starter. these things are huge but can hold some power.

nope ^^^ in europe and J'pan i believe they cam as a DET option (single turbo dual cam)


oh yeah and bardabe, i was looking for hand outs! lol. actually more or less the SR not an RB20.... so small of an inline 6

why would you import a engine that you can find in the USA just cause it has a single turbo option possibly.:075: poor snw looking for free stuff.

put the KA24 back in the 240SX and daily drive it.

Buy a 240Z and put the RB20DET in there and mod it. :D yay!

if only it was that easy / cheap finding a 240Z (dont; get me wrong if i had the funds to do that **** yeah I;d do it in a heart bead) Daily drive a Right Hand drive S13 and track/ weekend car a baller S30 no questions asked! ha ha


but so far i;ve found allot of info and its really motivating

I'm gonna compare the J30 and S13/S14 cross members see what i can do about that. then i know the S12's VG30 xmemeber bolts on to S13 for sure. however the ET DE have different mounting points so we'll see how that goes. i know if it comes down to it I can always get the J30 oil pan and oil pick up (front Sump VS> Z32's Rear Sump system) but I really wanna keep the rear sump so it will be easier to mount the engine as far back as possible. the shifter will be an issue but nothing a little fabricating can't fix. I'm sure I can adapt the entire Z32 shifter system on to the S13. nothing a little clutting and welding can't handle right?

so far by biggest issue is Down Pipe and steering column clearance. so we'll see how that goes. also the fact that I might run into an issue with my Clutch Master Cylinder hitting the Intake Manifold.

I Plan to keep the Twin Turbo's no matter what. other than that I'd just get an N/A maintain it and use the extra dough to Spray, low compression gasket, standalone etc etc. but im still just on the research factor. I wanna be sure i wanna go through with this 100% before I carry it on out.

P.S. the single turbo DE option in japan is a VQ30DET and it was offered int eh Gloria and Laurel nor Z cars. AND is JDM only so importing it to the US plays a big role.

Well soon enough this car will be sold. now im on a Hunt for a Z. those where 2 very long years I have to say. but I learned allot on that little S13 ha ha
