My bud has a 92' or so saturn that we are going to canibalize and turn it into a 4x4 buggy. basically what we are going to do is take the drivetrain and turn it sideways so that the axles will now be changed to driveshafts. the new driveshafts will go to some lightweight 4x4 jeep axles like some dana 20's. then we will build a tube-frame chassis and put the saturn body panels on the tube chassis. We will have to figure out some sort of suspension for it but I don't that will be a problem (using used truck parts). I will paste a drawing of what it should look like mabey tomorrow afternoon after we get together and do some more suspension design. The saturn now has 210k mi. and the body is about dead and the timing chain needs to be replaced but that will be done after we pull the drivetrain.

give any sugestions that you think would help or dis our idea of taking a dying economy car and making a 4x4 buggy.
