210 coupe, what engine would replace an A14

so seeing how i am really bored and i got to thinkin, one Z is enough, a 79 210 (not b210 in 1979) showed up on the list for $350, runs 4spd, i am assuming since its in the US its got an A14 motor in it.

i got to thinking though if its straight and little rust it could be a decent car to drive arround and mabe work on after i get the Z squared away since i am really bored.

so any way i was thinkin what would be better for more power?
tune the A14?
i hear its head is like the A15 with larger valves and porting, probally do some cam or side drafts or possible single carb small turbo or swap engines and tune it.

i'm kinda stuck on 3 engines though.
L16/20b's
NAPS-Z
L24/26/28 (balls to the wall)

there are some other engines but then i'd have to **** with computers and engine wiring.

i'm just looking for something i can daily drive untill i get something else fixed then i can tweak the **** out of it.

what do you think?

sr20, ka, any motor is really nice to swap, check out ratsun.net. we have some info on the 210 there.

can you set those engines up with out having to install the harness?

i know you can do em up with megasquirt but that shits expencive. i wonder if theres a way on TB injected motors to just have it spray when the cars on and thats that.

replace the pump of course too.

its kind of an oddball motor but a VG30i (i for TBI instead of e for MPFI) would be kind of cool but i dont know how much of its computer controlled

that coupe sold but a 5 spd wagon showed up for less, guy says it needs a starter, which he doesent have, and a new carb, which he does have. seems pretty clean and has some bad ass wheels.

That's kinda how some old German cars (Mercedes, Porsche, etc) did fuel injection in the beginning. K-Jetronic & KE-Jetronic setups use a fuel distribution system to flow the fuel constantly to the cylinders, dependent on air flow & would adjust pressure accordingly.

yea i've been looking that up, alot of times they are stil mpfi but almost all of the time they have a distribution block with a mechanical AFM that has a cup in it, when the air gets sucked in the engine it pulls the cup down leatting more gas flow to the injectors which were just nozzles.

i'd have to figure out something electronical (i know not a word) or mabe just hope to find the perfect injector some day and use a rising rate regulator.

if i get the wagon, and i dont see why i wouldnt if he still has it friday but he should since he mispelled "datsun" it might have some thing done to it already
if not i got to thinkin, i know where theres a engine thats been sitting outside, i'm sure no one would care if it dissappeared...its been there a while.

i think its a L motor, probably a 16, no intake but meh, SU
