Z31 or 280ZX? - Body Stiffness
 

Seeing that my s30 is as developed as far as makes sense to me, I'm looking at another Nissan coupe project for a road and race car. Something that can be driven to a circuit, raced and then driven home, like the s30 has been developed to do.

So the choice is between a 280ZX and Z31 two seater, I'm thinking that stripping out the comfort stuff will bring both down to about the same weight. Plus the suspension changes in mind could be done to either, same with the engines and transmission.

Which leaves body rigidity as an important consideration. The Z31 being the later model would be expected to be stiffer, but is it? The 280ZX appears to be quite an improvement in that regard over the flexy s30. Experiences?
