What flares work with the 10" Wheels ?

Okay guys I did it

I entered a car my car in a Pro Solo and will also
enter it in the NT for the following weekend . This
is a car thats in pieces on the side of my house :(

I need to know what bolt/glue on flares will work with the bigger tires and
wheels . The 16 x 10's ....

Anyone wan't to sign up as a co driver, Tom Carry , Steve . Its only a beta / test registration to prove to the SCCA that the Northwest can hold a Pro Solo again. The reason they quit hosting it was they lost their old site. This new one even has a 300' x 300 ' covered pit area : )

Tom,
Take a look his is entered in ASP .. Your buddy Greg

Take care,
Mike :spot:

I think Steve and Ian have the Motorsport Auto Street flares like I have on my green car. What backspacing do you run? John Coffey used 16x10 wheels with 5 inch backspacing and I think 1 degree of negative camber when he used slicks. He had those JDM bolt on flares, I think called ZG. Tom Holt if he is using the same ones Andy Craig had on the first black car are simlar to MSA's street flare. Vic Sias had 16x10 wheels with the Andy Craig Flares but ran more negative camber with the Kumho's in street prepared. The fronts are different in the curve with Motorsports having a more rounded look. I bought a set from Andy but ended up using the MSA ones. "Drivesideways" uses the IMSA style ones from MSA but he cut off the mudflap section.

I am planning on using 5" backspace with the 10's . Right now I have 15 x 8's and wheel use cants with them until after I get the suspension and
the rear end done. I like the looks of the MSA flares you guys have. I think
the IMSA flares with the mud flaps look goofy :)

Thanks for posting the photos of your car for me . Kyle seemed to
have removed all those old photos we had in the albums from a few
years ago. He had them stored on the back up server for a long time :(

Thanks again,
Mike

We might have one more FP Z going together up here as well.
I need to call the guy to see if he is going to do it .

Here are a couple of old GT-2 cars with 16x10. They use real IMSA fronts with a rear panel of a blended in CP flare. I think I can still get that panel from Motorsport Dynamics here in Sacramento.
I had a link to one of my photos in the old gallery here and it still worked a couple of weeks ago so maybe the gallery is still around?

The gallery is still there , but all the old members rides section isn't up anymore .

Here is the link to our gallery...

Its funny how plain the old race cars look without the use of the
new vinyl graphics .

I looked up the price on the Street Flares at MSA and they were about $230 . I need to smooze a bit to see if I can get me a discount :)

Thanks,
Mike

There is a set of new IMSA flares for $150 over on HybridZ. I am guessing MSA style IMSA. You could cut off the mudflaps like Drivesideways did.

Our rims are 9.5 and we only run about -1 degree of camber.

The rims are 0 offset (but require a one inch spacer to get them there).

When using the rear flare in the front - we heated it - bent it and just used sheet metal screws to fasten it.

Cheap and easy.

Hi Steve,

Does Mas sell any other fiberglass for the Z? I have not heard of the them before. Thanks, Steve

They're the only flares I remember seeing in their flyer - but it might be worth a phone call. They have a number of flyers with tons of stuff for almost anything with wheels.
