Street Mod 2 Upped displacement on OHC
Hey all,
Picked up my copy of the SCCA 2003 rules. They upped the allowed displacement of the OHC engines to 4.0 for both Forced induction and N/A . N/A has a tough minimung weight of 1900 pounds, but the forced induction cars wieght limit is 2100 pounds . Hmmm a 3.3 liter stroker VG turbo engine would fit in that catagory well :) |
Wow, are you sure that isn't a typo.....
Is there any other changes? I haven't picked up my copy yet. BTW do you know if the Eurobumpers are ok to use for that class? |
Nope it isn't a typo. SM remains the 3 liter limit. It really doesn't say much other then the vehicles must b as originally delivered wiht road going equipment., but it does allow body kits . Since its still a regional class . I think your local club could tell you what they allow.

Guess they're begining us Datsun guys to put in a turbo charged version of the new 3.5L
I thought that SM2 it was finally a national class....at least there was a national champion for that class last year. Guess I'm cornfused about when/what it takes to make it official. |
They did run it at Nationals last year. They mixed it with the Emod guys I believe , but were close to having enough entries to form a National class.
I think they will be able to do it this year :) |
NVM - I had bad info. SM is a full national class, SM2 is still "regional optional... Supplemental class at National Tour and ProSolo National Series events." Though I'd imagine that there will be a full national class in the next couple of seasons. Wea re usually one of the 3 largest classes in our region (usuall 8-10 drivers in SM2 out of ~ 150 drivers).
